Marion Police Department Hosts CPR Training for Local Businesses

Marion, MS – September 6, 2024 – The Marion Police Department, in partnership with the Town of Marion, is hosting a CPR Training Class to help ensure that every business in Marion has at least one certified CPR employee.

The training will be held on Friday, September 6th at 10:00 AM at Marion Town Hall, located at 5516 Dale Drive, Marion, MS. All local business owners and their employees are invited to attend this important community safety initiative.

The theme of the class, “What If”, emphasizes the life-saving difference CPR can make in an emergency. The purpose is simple but powerful: save a life.

Mayor Larry Gill shared his thoughts on the importance of the training:

“Preparedness saves lives. By offering this CPR training, we are giving our businesses and our community the tools they need to respond in critical moments. I encourage all Marion business owners to take advantage of this opportunity—not only for the safety of their employees, but for the safety of our entire community.”

Marion Police Chief Randall Davis added:

“Our goal is to make sure every business in Marion has at least one CPR-certified employee. Emergencies can happen anywhere, and when they do, having someone trained to respond can make all the difference. This training is about protecting lives and strengthening our community’s readiness.”

The event is free to attend and open to all Marion businesses. For more information, please contact Marion Town Hall at 601-483-9573.
