The Town of Marion is proud to announce that $2 million in federal funding has been secured to support a major infrastructure improvement project that will strengthen safety, accessibility, and long-term growth within our community.
Mayor Larry Gill recently met with Congressman Michael Guest, who is currently serving his fourth term as the U.S. Representative for Mississippi’s Third Congressional District, to discuss key infrastructure priorities for Marion. Through continued advocacy and strong federal partnership, this significant investment has been secured to move critical improvements forward.
This achievement reflects the spirit of collaboration and leadership — truly Teaming Up for Marion — and demonstrates what can be accomplished when local and federal leaders work together toward a shared vision for progress.
Mayor Larry Gill emphasized the importance of this investment for Marion’s future:
“This is tremendous news for the Town of Marion,” said Mayor Larry Gill. “When we work together and build strong partnerships, we position our town for meaningful growth. This investment strengthens our infrastructure, supports our residents, and helps ensure Marion continues moving forward with confidence.”
Congressman Michael Guest also shared his support for the community and its continued development:
“Thank you to Mayor Gill for the opportunity to meet and connect with local community leaders,” said Congressman Guest. “I enjoyed learning more about how my work in Congress can continue to support Marion as a great place to live, worship, and raise a family.”
Additional project details and timelines will be shared as plans move forward.
At the Town of Marion, we remain committed to collaboration, growth, and progress — because we believe in our guiding principle:
Common Threads. Tightly Woven.
This announcement reflects the strength of our partnerships and the shared commitment to investing in Marion’s future.
