A Day of Service, Reflection, and Community
At Town of Marion, community has always been more than a word — it is something we live out every day through service, compassion, and care for one another.
As we observe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we pause to reflect on one of his most powerful reminders:
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This question continues to challenge and inspire us — not only as individuals, but as neighbors working together for the good of our town.
Dr. King believed in the strength of unity, the power of service, and the importance of lifting one another up. Those values are woven into the fabric of Marion — from the work of our Town employees to the kindness shown between neighbors every day. Whether it’s lending a helping hand, offering encouragement, or simply treating one another with respect, each act matters.
In observance of this important day, Marion Town Hall and the Water Department will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026. This closure allows us time to honor Dr. King’s legacy and reflect on how we can continue to serve our community with purpose and heart.
As we move forward together, let this day remind us that real change begins at home — in our streets, our neighborhoods, and our daily actions. When we serve one another, we strengthen the threads that bind Marion together.
